The 6 Hour - Florida Driver Education Traffic Safety Course (DETS) is currently under a 48 hours processing time. Your DMV will NOT have access to your certificate until 48 hours after you have completed the course.

Teens aged 14–17 applying for a learner’s permit after August 1, 2025, must complete the new 6-hour Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) course.

This comprehensive course, replacing the previous TLSAE requirement for teens, provides a deeper dive into safe driving practices and aims to equip young drivers with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate today's roads responsibly.
