If you are you under 18 and ready to get your Florida learner's permit? Starting August 1, 2025, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) requires all first-time drivers under 18 to complete the new 6-hour Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) course before applying for their learner's license.
